Do you need a Coach?
During the Australian Open there was a good deal of commentary about whether Nick Kyrgios needs or indeed wants a coach. As Andre Agassi said of his own experience as former ‘four-time’ winner of the Australian Open 1995, 2000, 2001, 2003
“I always surround myself by knowing my weaknesses and filling those gaps. You do it in business, you do it in life, and doing it on the tennis court, I would highly suggest that to anybody.” (Sydney Morning Herald. Jan 19, 2018.)
Do you need or want an executive coach? You may have started the year thinking this year is going to be different with a new set of goals and energy from a well-earned rest over the summer break. But who will hold you accountable and where will get help from when you need it? Consider some of the following advantages of working with a coach:
- Establish and take decisive action towards achieving goals
- Improve productivity and prioritise value-adding activity
- Increase engagement and productivity of team members
- Take greater responsibility and accountability for actions and commitments
- Work more easily and productively with others (boss, direct reports, peers)
- Communicate with and influence others more effectively • Increase personal results and job satisfaction
